Before you join

Questions members ask us most

Grouped by what you want to know: joining, what's included, pausing or cancelling, and visiting the mill.

How do I join The Foundry Cowork?

Book a tour first so you can see the hot desks, dedicated desks and meeting rooms for yourself. When you're ready, see the memberships to compare the Hot desk, Dedicated desk and Ten-day pass and join online.

What's the difference between a hot desk and a dedicated desk?

A hot desk means any free desk on the day, so you choose where you sit. A dedicated desk is the same desk, kept for you, every time you come in. Both sit inside the same converted mill in Ancoats.

What's included with membership?

Every member has fibre broadband, access to a staffed front desk, and phone booths on every floor for private calls. See the memberships for what else is included with each plan.

What is the Ten-day pass?

It's a flexible way to use the space without a full membership. See the memberships for how it works and what it includes.

Can I book a meeting room?

Yes. Meeting rooms are part of the building alongside the hot desks and dedicated desks. See the memberships for how booking hours work for each plan.

How do I pause or cancel my membership?

Terms for pausing or cancelling are set out when you join. See the memberships for the full details before you sign up.

Can I visit before I commit?

Yes. Book a tour and we'll walk you through the hot desks, dedicated desks and meeting rooms, and show you the front desk and phone booths in person.

Where is The Foundry Cowork and what are your hours?

We're in a converted mill on Old Mill Street, Ancoats, Manchester M4 6EE. The front desk is staffed Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm.

Is there good broadband for calls and video meetings?

Every floor has fibre broadband, and phone booths are available when you need to take a call away from your desk.
